Summit the fells of Barrow (1.5 miles) Grisedale Pike (3 miles) or take a trip to the fascinating Castlerigg Stone Circle (4.5 miles). Whinlatter Forest (2 miles) has numerous mountain bike trails and a high ropes course at Go Ape. The village has two pubs and two restaurants with the local pub serving food and ale just next door. The market town of Keswick on the banks of Derwentwater is just 2 miles away with a variety of independent shops pubs and restaurants as well as the Pencil Museum Puzzle Place House of Illusions and the Theatre by the Lake.
