Overview
This first-floor apartment is located within a fine former Gentleman's residence. It enjoys an elevated position providing stunning mountain views with grounds that extend down to the edge of Esthwaite Water surrounded by miles of scenic walks. Wander down to the lake a perfect spot for enjoying a picnic or making the most of one of the rowing boats. There is also a private path to National Trust land at the back of the property with direct access to Moss Eccles Tarn. The village of Hawkshead is only a mile away famed for its connections to Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth with a range of shops cafes and pubs. On entering the apartment the private hallway provides space to hang coats before entering the open-plan lounge/diner where attention is immediately drawn to the view. The room welcomes guests with its comfortable seating Smart TV/ Blu-ray a well-stocked library and upholstered window seat from where they can enjoy the stunning views over the lake towards the mountains: ospreys are seen frequently. The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven and hob a small fridge/freezer nespresso and a microwave. There are three bedrooms; two with super king-size zip-and-link beds which can be made up as 2 6 twins upon request and a single bedroom. One bedroom has a bathroom with a shower over bath washbasin and WC and the other shares the shower room with a shower and WC. Outside the estate enjoys 40 acres of shared gardens and woodland which guests have full access to. Younger guests will enjoy the play area with swings a climbing frame and outdoor table tennis tables plus pitch and putt golf. There is ample off-road parking adjacent to the building. Need to know: 3 bedrooms 2 super king size zip and link (can be made up as a twin on request, request must be made at time of booking less than 7 days notice may incur additional charges) and a single room. 2 bathrooms 1 en suite bathroom with a shower over bath, separate shower, and WC and 1 en suite shower room with shower and WC. Electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, nespresso (please bring pods or purchase locally) and microwave. Laundry facilities on site with washing machine and tumble dryer. Travel cot and highchair available on request. Smart TV/Blu ray and DVD in lounge. Play area with swings, climbing frame, pitch and golf putting lawn, outdoor table tennis and badminton. Shared use of rowing boats (seasonal) speak to the caretaker on arrival for use 40 acres of shared gardens and woodland with streams and waterfalls. Ample off road parking. Shop and pub within walking distance. Not all the shared facilities advertised at the property may be available or will require social distancing.
