Overview
The centre of Cockermouth is only about a mile away where you will find a wide range of welcoming restaurants friendly pubs and independent shops. The poet William Wordsworth was born in the town and you can visit his birthplace near the River Derwent. There are miles of beautiful walks and cycle trails to follow throughout the region; heading further into the Lake District you can discover Bassenthwaite Lake (6.5 miles) Derwentwater (13 miles) Crummock Water (8.5 miles) and Buttermere (11.5 miles). Heading east you can explore the Cumbrian coastline including the popular resort of Maryport (7.5 miles). Other local attractions include The Lakes Distillery (6.5 miles) Mirehouse and Gardens (12 miles) and the Lake District Wildlife Park (8 miles). Entering this welcoming bungalow which takes its name from the Maori word for welcome you will find the main living areas to the rear of the property occupying an extension to the original building. The light fresh and relaxing lounge/diner is a lovely space to unwind in with a Smart TV DVD Bluetooth speaker plenty of seating and a pleasant dining area. Heading into the stylish kitchen you will find it kitted out with a useful range of equipment including an electric oven with gas hob combi oven/microwave fridge/freezer washer/dryer and dishwasher. There are also two cosy bedrooms: a cheerful twin room and a delightful double room which also has a TV. The bathroom features a double-ended bath walk-in shower and WC. French doors lead out from the lounge into the imaginatively landscaped garden which is set over two levels. The patio has outdoor furniture and makes an ideal space for a morning coffee. Seven steps lead up to the lawned upper level where there's further seating perfect for enjoying the sunset. The garden also contains a range of bedding plants and you're welcome to help yourself to some of the raspberries rhubarb mint and cherries that grow here. The driveway has space for two cars and there's also storage space for bikes in the back garden. Need to know: 2 bedrooms 1 double, 1 twin. 1 bathroom with bath, separate shower and WC.
