Overview
The picturesque village of Hawkshead has many inns teashops guest houses and gift shops as well as the Beatrix Potter gallery. Newby Bridge is 10 miles away and offers attractions such as the Aquarium of the Lakes and Windermere Lake Cruises sailing daily between Ambleside Bowness and Lakeside. With stunning scenery and numerous attractions within easy touring distance Hawkshead is in an ideal location at any time of the year. There is plenty of countryside walks available nearby and both Lake Windermere (4mls) and Coniston Water (3mls) are within a short drive of the property. Not to be missed is a visit to Claife Heights (4.9 miles) a purpose-built viewing platform which offers unrivaled views over Lake Windermere. Adventurous types will enjoy a trip to Grizedale Forest (2.2 miles) where there is a Go-Ape centre with high ropes and a zip wire. Through the front door you enter the spacious lounge which oozes comfort and relaxation with corner sofas surrounding the open fire and TV and then an additional two armchairs perfect to read a book which makes for a perfect night in. Head down a step to the kitchen/diner which has been designed to be functional along with a seating area and a wood burner to enjoy at mealtimes and give a homely feel. Onto the first floor where we have the master bedroom with a double bed and plenty of storage space. The bathroom has a shower over the bath and WC and completing this property is a twin room. There is a lovely patio area with a dining area set amongst a wonderful setting. There is an outhouse with space to store bikes. Need to know: 2 bedrooms 1 double, 1 twin. 1 with shower over the bath and WC. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, and dishwasher. Wood burner and open fire. Highchair available. TV in lounge. Patio area with seating. Off road parking for 1 car. Bike storage. Shop and pub within 1 mile.
