Overview
The village of Hawkshead is renowned for its links to Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth and both literary figures are celebrated in the village's National Trust properties. Lake Windermere and Coniston Water are both situated within five miles of the property and offer plenty of opportunities for boat rides water sports and scenic walks around their shorelines. For thrill seekers the Go-Ape high ropes centre at Grizedale Forest is just over three miles away. Guests entering this property come directly to the lounge/diner decorated in warming colours which give this room a lovely welcoming feel. Here guests will find a large dining table and comfortable seating from which to enjoy the cosy wood burner TV/DVD and CD. Moving through to the kitchen guests will discover a contemporary well-equipped space with oven hob microwave fridge freezer dishwasher and washing machine. A door from the kitchen opens out onto a small village square. Upstairs there are three pretty bedrooms which are all decorated in an elegant understated style giving them all a lovely restful atmosphere. The first of these rooms is on the first floor- a king-size double which has an elegant ensuite shower room. The bathroom is also located on the first floor and offers a shower over the bath and WC. Up a second flight of stairs you reach another two bedrooms a pretty twin and a single bedroom. Outside there is seating area to the front of the cottage looking out over the cobble stoned street and a picnic bench to the rear of the cottage as well as a handy shed for bike storage BBQ and sun umbrella.
