The pretty village of Backbarrow is home to a number of attractions including Lakeland Motor Museum Cliffhanger Rooms and Bigland Barrow while the neighbouring village of Haverthwaite (1.5 miles) marks the start of the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway. Heading north Fell Foot Park lies at the southern end of Windermere (2.5 miles) with landmarks including the Lakes Aquarium Stott Park Bobbin Mill and Gummer's How (all within 3.5 miles). Windermere is a fabulous base for woodland walks or for taking a cruise across the lake.
