The rural village of Dovenby is 2.5 miles from the Georgian market town of Cockermouth the birthplace of William Wordsworth and home to an array of shops and eateries. The coastal town of Maryport is just 5 miles away and boasts a sandy shingle beach a Roman museum and a harbour-side aquarium. There's a fantastic choice of local distilleries and breweries where you can book tasting sessions and tours or you can simply nip down the road to the village pub (100 metres). If you're looking for something more adventurous take up wild swimming in one of the surrounding lakes including Loweswater (10 miles) Crummock Water (11 miles) and Bassenthwaite lake (9 miles) try walking an alpaca or abseil nearly 40 metres into a disused quarry these are just a few of the activities on offer locally! As you walk into this spacious property and into the welcoming entrance/boot room you can kick off your shoes and hang up your coats after a busy day exploring the Lake District.
