This property is situated just a short walk from Cockermouth the birthplace of William Wordsworth. A bustling market town with restaurants local shops cafes art galleries and play parks on your doorstep it's perfect for those looking to explore the Lakes for walking cycling swimming and sightseeing. It's also a great location to explore the Western Fells and Lakes Scafell Pike Grasmoor Fleetwith Pike Haystacks Keswick and Buttermere are all within 30 miles. Whinlatter Forest is 7 miles away where you can Go Ape or hire bikes and explore the great forest trails. The shore path at Bassenthwaite (8 miles) runs the length of the west shore leading to Keswick (12.5 miles) and makes for a lovely stroll. Visit the Lake District Wildlife Park (7 miles) for a walk on the wild side or test your palette when enjoying a tour at the Lakes Distillery (5 miles). Taste Cumbria Food Festival is held in September in Cockermouth with a huge range of local produce as well as live music. This detached property with stunning views towards the Lorton Vale and Embleton Fells offers a great retreat for families and friends.
