Overview

The Den is a holiday home in Kendal, Cumbria. Sleeping up to 2 guests, it holds a 4-star rating.

This is the one most people come for. The Lake District is England's largest national park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a glorious sweep of high fells, ribbon lakes and stone-built villages packed into a corner of Cumbria, and the heart of everything we do. If your idea of a holiday is mountains reflected in still water, a boat trip followed by a pub lunch, and a different view around every bend, this is your place. The superlatives are real. Scafell Pike, at 978 metres, is the highest mountain in England; Windermere is its longest and largest lake; and wild Wast Water, ringed by screes, is the deepest. Between them lie the gentler waters of Derwentwater, Ullswater and Coniston, the great walking country of the central and western fells, and the villages and market towns, Ambleside, Keswick, Grasmere and the rest, that make such comfortable bases. It is a landscape that shaped Wordsworth, Beatrix Potter and Ruskin, and it has been inspiring visitors ever since. The beauty of the Lake District is its variety. You can climb England's highest ground or stroll a flat lakeshore, sail, swim, cycle or simply sit with a view, and there is as much to do on a wet day as a fine one. Browse our holiday homes across the Lake District and base yourself right in the middle of England's most loved national park.
