The proximity to Hadrian's Wall beckons you to delve into the depths of Roman history while leisurely strolls through the enchanting countryside provide a refreshing escape. The historic city of Carlisle boasts a castle cathedral and an abundance of shops bars cafes and restaurants. Enjoy a day at the vast boating lake and grounds of Talkin Tarn Country Park (7.5 miles) where you can try windsurfing canoeing or rowing visit the tearoom and gift shop or go for a woodland stroll. On a wet day with children visit Walby Farm Park which is just 1.5 miles away and offers a great day out.
