Local activities include kayaking rock climbing ghyll scrambling canoeing fishing mountain biking and fell-walking. As well as the magnificent Bassenthwaite Lake (4 miles) and the majestic Derwentwater (2.5 miles) you can explore Whinlatter Forest Park (6 miles) Mirehouse and Gardens (2.5 miles) and the Lake District Wildlife Park (6.5 miles).
