Overview
The beautiful traditional village of Caldbeck is situated under the northern fells of the Lake District less than 20 miles from the border city of Carlisle and the market towns of Keswick Penrith and Cockermouth. There is a pleasant walk from the property past the village duck pond up to The Howk a limestone gorge containing waterfalls and the picturesque ruins of an old bobbin mill. This is the perfect location for keen walkers and cyclists with routes for all abilities available from your front door. The village pub is within 0.1 miles from the cottage it is a traditional Lake District Inn and a pub with Jennings cask ales brewed locally in Cockermouth proper home-made food and a great beer garden. As you walk through the front door you will find yourself in the hallway where there is storage for coats and shoes. Off to the right from the hallway you will find the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. It has been thoughtfully renovated throughout with original quirky features whilst having a luxurious contemporary feel. The slate floor is heated throughout on the ground floor offering a warm and welcoming space to catch up with friends and family. The bespoke kitchen has everything you will need; there is an electric range oven and hob dishwasher SMEG fridge/freezer microwave Delonghi manual coffee machine washing machine and tumble dryer. The stunning dining table offers the perfect place to gather and enjoy a nice meal or breakfast and discuss the plans for the week ahead. Head through to the lounge which leads through from the kitchen where you will find lots of features including a beamed ceiling cosy wood burner a Smart TV and comfy sofas to kick back on and relax. Head back through to the kitchen and into the hall where there is a shower room with a shower and WC under the stairs and access out to the enclosed back garden. Head up the stairs to the first floor and you'll find three bedrooms: a super-king-size zip-and-link (which can be made into a twin on request; a king-size bedroom; and a twin bedroom. The bathroom is at the end of the hallway and has a shower over a freestanding bath and WC. There is an enclosed back garden with a covered porch with wall-mounted bike racks for you to store your bikes there is also a patio area for you to sit out and enjoy the peace and tranquillity which can be a real sun trap in the evenings. There is also a well-tended front garden with a lawn which sits opposite the beck overlooking the village - this offers the perfect place to sit and watch the world go by. There is private parking for one car at the front of the property and additional roadside parking just outside the front garden (subject to availability).
