Situated on the side of Whinlatter with breathtaking views of Skiddaw this charming cottage has no shortage of incredible walks. Whinlatter Forest Park is on your doorstep with cycling and walking trails as well as an Osprey viewing point for wildlife enthusiasts. There is plenty to do and explore for the whole family in the local vicinity; within the village of Thornthwaite there is a gallery and tea rooms only a short stroll away. The Lakes Distillery and restaurant Bassenthwaite Station café (which includes the carriage where the latest Murder on the Orient Express movie was filmed) The Lake District Wildlife Park and Bassenthwaite Sailing Club all a 10 minute drive away. In the opposite direction Lingholme Kitchen and Nicol End Marina and Café are great spots to visit in nearby Portinscale and Mirehouse is also a lovely historic house to discover. Keswick is just 3 miles away with plenty of shops pubs and eateries as well as its renowned Theatre by the Lake the pencil museum and golf course. Enter into the welcoming sitting room with slate flooring and a cosy wood burner set in a stone fireplace which keeps both the sitting room and the dining room warm. There is a TV for evening entertainment as well as a TV and DVD in the further snug perfect for kids. Up a step is the spacious kitchen with contemporary furnishings and is well-equipped with a Range cooker with an induction hob a microwave fridge/freezer and dishwasher as well as an additional dining area. For family meals step up from the sitting room into the galleried dining room with ample seating for eight. A handy cloakroom is ideal for storing boots and it has a convenient WC while the utility room is equipped with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Also on the ground floor is the master bedroom with an en-suite walk-in shower and WC. Upstairs is the second king-size bedroom as well as two twin bedrooms one of which is accessed by the galleried bridge over the dining area. A family bathroom with a bath and WC completes the accommodation. The enclosed garden with a handy bike shed enjoys wonderful views which can be admired from the garden furniture on the sunny patio.
