Lakeside strolls woodland scrambles and fell climbs this area has it all. As one of the big three mountain valleys in the National Park you can scale Great Gable Kirk Fell Yewbarrow and Scafell from here. It's also known as the birthplace of British climbing so come prepared. Picturesque Eskdale is nearby. Home to the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway you can hop on board for a day out to the Cumbrian coast whilst history lovers will enjoy a visit to Muncaster Castle.
