Simply presented yet brimming with traditional features such as whitewashed stone walls in the bedrooms and painted beams throughout this cosy cottage is a welcome retreat for couples. Nestled in the foothills of the surrounding mountains the village of Buttermere has an ethereal quality thanks to the stunning lake that gives the location its name. Pack a flask of coffee and explore in the early morning sunshine pausing to reflect at the edge of the water before venturing along one of the footpaths. Woodland challenging hill climbs and pockets of bluebell-strewn moorland provides excellent walking opportunities but a 10-mile drive will bring you to renowned Lakeland destinations such as Keswick a bustling market town studded with shops eateries and amusements including a cinema museum and theatre. Approach the picket fence and step through the front door to enter the lounge an inviting space with comfortable seating a TV DVD and a crackling wood burner as well as books and board games for a spot of entertainment. Next is the dining room which opens out into the kitchen where you can cook and dine at leisure. There is an electric oven an induction hob a fridge with an icebox-style freezer and an in-built microwave for all your culinary needs. Climb the stairs to the first floor to find the handy bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC. There are two bedrooms in the property but the layout of the cottage is only suitable for two guests either sharing the kingsize bedroom or split between this room and the smaller single bedroom. Free WiFi may not be included but this quintessential abode provides a digital detox. A pretty enclosed garden is just across the yard and offers impressive vistas for your first coffee of the day. There is space for one car to park and there is a steep footpath leading straight out to the Buttermere Fells from the kitchen. Need to know: 1 kingsize bedroom. 1 single bedroom. 1 bathroom with shower over the bath and WC. Electric oven, hob, fridge with icebox compartment and microwave. Wood burner good supply of logs provided (additional logs available at cost). TV, DVD. Wi Fi provided. Enclosed garden located across the yard. Off road parking for 1 car. Pub within 0.5 miles, shop within 10 miles. Please note mobile reception is variable public phone available in nearby pub. Please note larger vehicles may struggle to park. Buttermere is a dark sky village, so please make sure to bring a torch as there are no street lamps. Sleeps 2 guests maximum. Regret no children under the age of 18 years old.
