The cottage is set in the friendly village of Bolton just 11 miles south of the market town of Penrith and 4 miles north of the historic town of Appleby in the peaceful Eden Valley. There are lots of opportunities for walkers and cyclists to explore on quiet country roads including the Lakes and Dales Loop for experienced cyclists. The route takes in the Lake District Yorkshire Dales Eden Valley Morecambe Bay and West Cumbria. Appleby-in-Westmorland (4 miles) is home to a 17th-century castle a choice of pubs shops and galleries and boasts the Eden Valley Railway and the Carlisle to Settle lines passing through the town. The Northern Lake District is only 13 miles away; enjoy a trip to Pooley Bridge on the banks of the famous Ullswater. Stroll along the shore hire a boat or hop on a cruise and take in the stunning scenery before stopping off for lunch in one of the local independent eateries. As you step inside this charming and cosy barn conversion you're immediately greeted by a small hallway with boot rack perfect for storing muddy boots. A set of stairs leads up to the first floor where you'll find a well-equipped galley style kitchen. A separate dining room allows you to tuck into the delicious home-cooked food whilst spending quality time with family or friends.
