This delightful period cottage just a mile south of the village of Plumpton sleeps eight guests making it the ideal place for family get-togethers as well as holidays with friends. The cottage benefits from a peaceful location and boasts stunning countryside views. Take a trip to Long Meg stone circle 9 miles or Lacey's Caves only 5 miles away. You'll be within 12 miles of the walkers paradises of the Lake District National Park and the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Walk the Ullswater Way hopping on and off the iconic steamers or hike to the top of Cross Fell (17 miles) in the Pennines for breathtaking views across the Lake District and beyond. The historic market town of Penrith is 4 miles away and has a fantastic selection of independent shops along its cobbled streets. At the heart of this welcoming family home is a large kitchen/diner. This bright space has a large wooden dining table for you to enjoy mealtimes together as well as a range-style electric oven microwave fridge/freezer and an additional fridge for storing all the tasty treats you'll no doubt pick up on your travels. There's also a handy dishwasher to make clearing up after dinner a breeze. After your meal retire to the elegant lounge which is flooded with natural light thanks to the impressive picture window. Sit at the window seat with a book looking out across the valley or curl up on the comfortable sofa in front of the wood burner effect electric fire to watch the Smart TV. Completing the ground floor is a handy WC. Heading upstairs you'll find four tasteful bedrooms all decorated in neutral tones with little flashes of colour to give each room its own style. The king-size bedroom has the added bonus of an en-suite with a WC and rainfall-effect shower perfect for reenergising aching limbs after a long hike. The next bedroom is a chic super-king which can be made up as a twin on request. The third bedroom is an inviting double which has a handy washbasin and the final bedroom is a delightful twin which boasts distant views of the surrounding fells. The gorgeous family bathroom is also located on the first floor and has a shower over the bath and a WC. French doors lead from the kitchen/diner to the patio with outdoor furniture so you can enjoy a spot of al fresco dining in summer months. To the side of the cottage there's a large lawn with mature trees and shrubs and beyond the garden wall you'll be treated to magnificent views across the neighbouring fields to the fells beyond. There is off-road parking for four cars as well as a charger for electric vehicles. The cottage also has lockable storage for bikes.
