Jump in the car and make the 8.5-mile trip to Coniston Water or head 4 miles to the bottom of Lake Windermere. Treat yourselves to a spot of lunch before hopping on and off a steamer or hiring a boat or paddleboards. The Lakeland Motor Museum and the Lakes Aquarium are both within 4 miles and nearby Newby Bridge marks the foot of Lake Windermere. Pack a picnic and head to the coast for a fun-filled day by the sea. With views across the water to Morecambe Bay Bardsea Beach is 8.5 miles from your door and a great place to spend the day. Just over 10 miles away is the vibrant town of Bowness-on-Windermere here you will find a lovely marina and some charming independent shops and restaurants. This traditional Lakeland detached cottage offers you a warm welcome with lots of characterful features throughout. As you walk in through the front door there is a small lobby which leads into the cosy lounge with open fire beams and window seat offering views over the garden giving you the chance to watch the birds and local wildlife.
