Less than half a mile from the property Lake Windermere itself has something for everyone from lakeside picnics to steamer cruises an aquarium canoe and rowing boat hire and a spectacular choice of lakeside walks for four-legged friends. Take the car ferry across to Hill Top House 3.5 miles away the beautifully conserved former home of Beatrix Potter and continue to traffic-free Hawkshead 5.5 miles away with its whitewashed houses and charming cafes. Visit the smaller peaceful lake of Grasmere 8 miles away being sure to sample some of its famous gingerbread together with neighbouring Ambleside home to shops restaurants a cinema and one of the most photographed houses in the Lake District. Inside this spacious and stylish property offers fresh neutral decor a homely feel and sociable layout. Designed to make the most of its enviably elevated position the open-plan living accommodation is on the second floor. At one end a modern kitchen area looks out over the Fairfield fells and is fitted with an electric oven and hob microwave fridge/freezer and dishwasher. After dining at the round table relax and unwind on one of the two sofas as you watch the sun setting over the fells or make the most of the Freeview TV. From here sliding doors open onto the south-facing balcony - a wonderful spot to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or evening aperitif. On the first floor are the two tastefully presented bedrooms one king-size and one super-king-size together with the family bathroom with a shower over the bath. Continuing downstairs on the ground floor a shower room doubles up as a useful utility area housing the washing machine and tumble dryer - perfect for drying off wet boots and paws too. Outside a delightful enclosed rear patio garden with table and chairs is a pleasant spot for al fresco dining. There are two private parking spaces to the front of the cottage plus an integral garage with an airer for drying outdoor clothes and space for storing bikes.
