Overview
Get your boots on and walk 1.5 miles to explore the fells in Dodd Wood. Keep your eyes peeled for red squirrels and osprey which you may be able to see from the viewing platform. Stroll 2 miles down to the lake for a waterside wander along the west shore. At the northern end of the lake is The Lakes Distillery where adults can enjoy a fun day out and stock up your favourite tipple to accompany dinner. Mirehouse and Gardens is a lovely place to visit with little ones in tow as there are woodland playgrounds and plenty of lovely walks to follow. Treat yourself to a night off from the kitchen and visit the local pub in Bassenthwaite village (1.5 miles). Descend stairs to reach this home and head into the ground-floor living space. Open-plan the kitchen lounge and diner fit together to create a welcoming hub of the home. Get comfortable and admire the views through the French doors or sit in front of the TV/DVD for a relaxing night in. Near the doors the dining table seats all guests so you can eat together and raise a toast to the chef. Just beyond is the kitchen with a cooker with ceramic hob and electric oven fridge with freezer compartment microwave and a dishwasher find all you need to cook up a storm and clear up afterwards. Though small the kitchen is stylish and has good worktop space. Completing the ground floor is the family shower room with WC where you can freshen up after exploring. Head upstairs to rest your head in one of three bedrooms. The double twin and single are all decorated in neutral tones with splashes of colour to help you relax and drift off in style. Should you fancy a soak the family bathroom has a bath with shower over the bath and a WC. Shared with the other properties in the barn there is a room with clothes airer iron and ironing board. Step out of the French doors and spend time basking in the sun with a drink in hand on your private patio. Beyond this there is a garden shared with other properties in the barn. The garden boasts fantastic views and is a great place for children to play. There is off-road parking for two cars. Need to know: 3 bedrooms 1 double, 1 twin, 1 single. 2 bathrooms 1 shower room with WC, 1 bathroom with shower over the bath and a WC. Electric oven, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave and dishwasher. TV/DVD. Patio with furniture, garden shared with other properties in the barn. There is off road parking for 2 cars.
